No 7...feels like Heaven

Silly title I know but I am a big cheese after all! :D

The Boy recently bought his mum a lovely present from No7 for his Mum and gave me the extra gift he received. A lovely blue Mod inspired make-up bag full of No 7 Goodies *hyperdance!*

This offer I believe is still running until the 23rd of April and you can also get 3 for 2 on all No 7 Products!! =D

I had never tried any No 7 products before (except an eye-shadow that my mum had ages ago) and this free gift has really impressed me!

The set includes travel sizes of:
1. Lash 360 mascara.
This is a great mascara, useful to have in your bag for when travelling (I leave mine at the Boy's house). It is not waterproof but still holds very well and gives good defintion and lenght.

It is priced at £12.50

2. Stay Perfect Eyeshadow in Pacific Green.

The colour stay is okay, I wouldn't stay it lasts for a very long time (I tried this product without a primer). The colour would suit women with lighter hair, it just looked a little bit silly on me :)

The eyeshadow will set you back £8.00

3. Sheer Temptation in 'Tempt'

This is my favourite part of the freebie! The colour seemed strong but because the lipstick goes on 'sheer' it is wearable! It is also very moisturising (this is from a girl with dry lips almost all of the time!).

This will cost you £10.00

4. Lift and Luminate Night Cream

Another wonderful product, which absorbes easily and moisturises very well.
I have been using Johnsons Daily Essentials 24 Hour Day and Night Cream and think that the Boots No 7 Night cream is a tad better mainly because Johnson's jar can collect bacteria after a while (because you are dipping your finger in and out).

Priced at £22

5. Protect and Perfect Beauty Serum

This is supposedly No7's version of Clarin's Beauty Balm Flash and for me this was my other top product of the set!

Amazing texture to the Serum, easy to apply. I would apply this at the end of the day mostly because it's strong enough to peel away your top layer of skin, making your skin even more sensitive to the sun and other things! So please apply a SPF 15 containing moisturiser the next morning to avoid creating more damage to your skin! :)

6. Protect and Perfect Men's Anti-Ageing Moisturiser with SPF 15
I tried to hide this one from the Boy but he spotted it and took it for himself.
I did however help myself to some (because I needed a face-cream with SPF 15) and can say
this works extremely well. There is no over powering 'Man' smell to it so both you and the other half can wear it!

Sidenote: I also tried the No7 for Men Moisturising Eye Cream and really love it! I think it works better than other under-eye moisturisers I have tried (Nivea for example!)

7. Radiance Revelaved Exfoliator
Unfortunately I haven't had the time to test this yet, as I have been using the Hot Cloth Cleanser instead (which is brilliant by the way!)

Work It!

Working in retail has it's advantages and disadvantages!
One of the greatest advantages is a staff discount. Many stores now offer their employees
a great discount of both full priced and sale items. This is usually because you are expected to represent the brand while working (i.e. wear their clothes).

I started working for Gap almost a year ago and love it there. When I first started I
bought a lot of new stuff (jeans, lots of t-shirts etc!) but lately I have noticed that
it is taking up quite a bit of money.

So here's a guide to what I suggest you buy/wear when working for a store.

1. Buy basics!
This is one of the most important things that you can do to help your wardrobe stretch further.
Like my other post about a Capsule Wardrobe this works with a similar concept.

If you buy one dress, one pair of the latest trend jeans and two tops you have a limited amount of clothes to wear. Plus your trendy items will soon be not 'on' trend anymore and you'll have to buy new ones! (OFF TOPIC I don't believe in being on trend but have found a lot of stores expect you to wear 'trend' items!)

If you buy one skirt, two tops and a pair of jeans, you have much more variety!
Plus you can wear them outside of work with your other clothes! =D

An example:

Trend Items that will last you for 2-3 months:

Items you will be able to wear again!

2. Try and be conservative!
Every shop has different level of acceptable flesh you'll be allowed to show :)
At Gap we should have skirts that hit at least to the top of your knees, no bra straps showing, nothing with too much clevage etc. We are also not allowed to wear flip-flops.

Your workplace is not the place to find a future boyfriend/your next date!
If you dress professionally you're managers and colleges will take you seriously.
Plus you wouldn't want to wear something so short that every customer can see you
bits when you're bending down!

3. But also try and have fun!
Spice up your work wardrobe with some cute accessories. A belt, scarf tied in your hair or a cute hairband can make all the difference. Shoes can also be a great accessory! Just make sure you can walk (and sometimes run!) in them all day!

4. Wear things in different ways! You might find that a lot of your work-mates have the same clothes as you. A way of still looking different while wearing the same item is to wear it in a completely different way.

Is it low cut? Wear a cute tank top underneath and layer your tops that way!

Does it have an interesting feature on the back? Wear it the other way around!

Be creative with accessories!

5. You don't have to wear a store head to toe!

Many shops might ask you to wear at least one item from their store, which allows
you to wear different jeans/trousers/skirts on the bottom.

Gap has this policy that as long as your jeans/skirts have any visible logos and represent Gap in some way, you can wear it! This means that any jeans you might already have or plain skirts can still be worn! :) Happy days!

Do any of you work for a retail store?
I would love to hear your thoughts!

Do you 'dress' your man?

Hi everybody :)
Have been spending lots of time enjoying the sunshine here in the UK (eating too much ice-cream and wearing very short dresses!).

The Boy took me shopping to Reading the other day (something which I was very suspicious about) and we had a look around lots of shops. Luckily there are a lot of men's departments which he went to check out while leaving me to drool over the women's clothes...

He tried some clothes on and I was walking around the men's section. I spotted a t-shirt, striped with white and red, my eyes went wild and I immediately thought: "This will suit him! He'd love this!"

So I take these t-shirts to him (I also picked it up in grey) and he looked at them with utter disgust...

"Are those for you?" He asked.

...."No for you." I replied.

Let's just say that he did not like and told me that I should maybe stick to picking
out my own clothes.

I have tried, while shopping together, on many occasions to pick out something for him
and almost always get it wrong >_<

So do any of you ever try and 'influence' your man's/brother's/male friend's style?
Let me know in the comments

P.S. This is the top mentioned in the post.
